GSM operators
A GSM Operator, also known as Mobile Network Operator, Carriage Service Provider, Wireless Service Provider, Wireless Carrier, Mobile Phone Operator, or Cellular Company, is a telephone company that provides services for mobile phone subscribers. There are different types of technologies in use in mobile telephony, Medical Intelligence is interested in GSM (Global System for Mobile communications originally from Groupe Spécial Mobile) Operators since its devices have GSM chipsets.
GSM Operators are essential partners to Medical Intelligence for they will enable the transmission of voice and data (telemetry) of our mobile emergency devices, such as the Columba Prima, the Vega, the PERSmobile and the Urgentys, to the Emergency Response Centres, the Caregivers and the wearers of the Devices. Every Device has an embedded SIM card. A SIM card, or Subscriber Identity Module, is a portable memory chip used in GSM type of cellular telephones. GSM Operators also provide Location Base Services (LBS) for GSM Positioning.
Medical Intelligence has direct or indirect partnerships for telemetry, LBS and distribution with five (5) GSM Operators in five (5) countries. MI is looking for more partnerships with GSM Operators in other countries.
